United Kingdom (UK) or Britain, is a country in Europe, off the north-western coast of the continental mainland. It comprises England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy. The capital and largest city is London, a global city and financial centre with a metropolitan area population of over 14 million. Other major cities include Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool and Leeds.
The United Kingdom is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Council of Europe, the G7, the Group of Ten, the G20, Five Eyes, the United Nations, NATO, AUKUS, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Interpol, and the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The UK is one of the World’s most popular immigration destinations if you wish to live and work in a new country. Since 1 December 2020 before the end of the Brexit transition period the UK visa points system was made easier for skilled workers.
In many cases you need to come under the UK points-based visa system which measures applicants against various criteria designed to assess their eligibility for a UK work or study visa. Most work-related visa applications such as the Skilled Worker visa (formerly Tier 2 visa) scheme, as well as study visa (formerly Tier 4 visa) applications are made through this system. Increasingly the current Boris Johnson government is discontinuing the use of the word “tier” in the points based visa system.
Tourism
The United Kingdoms or more commonly known as the UK is made up of four countries, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England. Scotland, Wales, and England make up the Great Brittan. Southern England is covered with rolling hills/ Scotland and northwest England filled with many lakes also known as lochs. These lakes were a result of the melting glaciers. They are often narrow, and ling and many can be several meters deep. The legend of the Loch Ness monster comes from here, as per the legend a monster names Nessie, lives in these lochs.
The best time to visit the UK is the Summers. The weather is fab; the cities are bustling; the streets are swarming with people. The general atmosphere is bright and lovely. Although it’s not expected to get too hot in the UK during the summer, the temperature on an odd day can reach 30 degrees Celsius and these days can be quite muggy and unbearable, especially if you are sightseeing all day.
There are many attractions in the UK that date back to pre-historic, ancient, medieval and modern times and can be visited even today. And the country does not disappoint. You can visit the mysterious Stonehenge. It is probably one of the oldest and intact monuments of the pre-historic ear. Or the Buckingham Palace, the royal residence of Queen Elizabeth built in 1703.
Take a trip to Madame Tussauds, a one-of-a-kind unique museum in the world. It is home to wax statues of many iconic people in the history of the world. Indian actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh among others have their statues unveiled at this very museum in London.
